A lot, but there's a reason why Ran changes so much. What is that, you ask? Sorry, but you'll have to wait until he (or I) decides to reveal it. Fact is, Ran never had an easy childhood, but after he learns to be independent and gets to know his friends, he changes a lot, making him a quite pleasant person to be with.
